How it works
There is one rule and it is the whole website: one dollar is one point. Points add up forever, the team with the most sits at the top, and that team is, officially and permanently until somebody spends more, the best football team in the world.
The tables
There are two, and the dropdown switches between them: clubs and national teams. They are ranked separately, because an argument about whether Real Madrid could beat Brazil is a different and much stupider argument.
The list of teams is fixed. You cannot add one, which means nobody can buy the top of this page for something that is not a football team.
Backing a team
- Pick a team, pick an amount, pay. Their total goes up by that many points.
- Every contribution adds to the total – it does not replace it. Ten people giving a dollar each beats one person giving nine.
- You can leave a message of up to 60 characters and a name. Both are public and both are optional.
- There is a ceiling of $500 on a single payment. Not for your protection – the table is only fun while the top of it still looks reachable.
Payment
Everything is priced in US dollars. Any card works, from any country. If your bank settles in something other than dollars, your card is charged the equivalent at their rate, which is between you and them.
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, who are the merchant of record and whose name will appear on your statement. Card details never touch this site.
The unglamorous part
- Contributions are non-refundable.
- Being overtaken is not a refund reason. Being overtaken is the product.
- Messages that are abusive get removed. The points stay.
- Nothing here is a poll, a survey, or a measurement of anything. It ranks money. That is the joke.
